BUILDERS CLUB: Brenna Foster & Allyson Gilbert attended.  Allyson reported that they have been working on painting the athletic sheds at the Middle School and attended the Aspire Higher Parade.
 
HAPPY/SAD $$:  Maryann, Happy $ for wonderful view of the foliage from her house; Sarah, sad $ for having to cancel next Tuesday’s interclub to Portland as she has to attend her brother-in-law’s funeral in Tennessee next week.  Happy $ for four installations already completed and a thank you to those who went with her.  Special thank you for one hour in the car with Stuart C, and his stories!  Stuart C., Happy $ for today’s meal at his table.  It is much quieter and everyone had seconds, must be because Bill H. wasn’t here today.  Buddy, Happy $ for Builders Club picture in the Advertiser this week and Happy $ for granddaughter attending today’s meeting.  Don, Happy $ his niece is getting married this weekend, however, all his suits have shrunk and he had to buy another one!  Happy $ for son Cody attending a dyslexia program next week.  Tina, Happy $ for daughter Daniele who was home last weekend, they went shopping and she spent her own money!  Also a Happy $ for son Jordan and his football team which is undefeated.
ANNOUNCEMENTS

Interclubs:  Scarborough and Sanford are completed.  Next interclub is Gorham on October 15th @ noon.  We are all set for attendees!  The Westbrook club will be joining us for their interclub next week.

Director’s Meeting:  We will have our regularly scheduled Director’s meeting immediately following the meeting next week.
 
5th Thursday in OctoberWe will be having our meeting on October 29th at the Culinary Arts room at the High School at noon.  Kate Michaud is working on her Senior Project and as a part of that she will be serving us lunch and providing the program (it is still a secret…).  All our $ paid for lunch will go towards this program.

Beth’s HouseJoe updated the group on the progress of raising money for Beth’s House.  They currently have $8,000 raised with much more pledged.  They are looking for two community members to join their committee, if interested they meet on Wednesday’s at the Norway branch of Norway Savings Bank at 1:30 pm.

Donation in memory of Alice CornwallAlice’s daughter Barbara donated a $102.00 to our club in memory of Alice’s birthday.  Alice always gave $XXX of happy dollars on her birthday!

TD Bank & NE DistrictThe New England District of Kiwanis has partnered with TD Bank as a way to earn donations.  TD Bank will donate a % of annual balance of our member funds in their bank.  For more information see Tina.

Induction Ceremony – Rick Colpitts

Maureen Howard introduced our newest member:  Rick Colpitts.  Rick received his BS degree in Elementary Education from Gordon College.  He received his masters in Education Management from Lesley College and is currently working on his PhD in Education Leadership at UMO.  Rick began his education career in 1982 in Wellesley, MA where he stayed for 12 years.  He moved to Peru, Maine in 1994 to become the principal of Hartford-Sumner Elementary School.  He has since held Superintendent positions with SAD #39 and #44.  He is currently the Assistant Superintendent of the Oxford Hills School District. Rick lives in Peru with his wife and eight children.  Welcome Rick.
