Nurse Practitioner Debra Nichols, who oversees the school-based health centers at Oxford Hills Middle School and Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, spoke at the May 7 meeting. Norway-Paris Kiwanis Club President Helga Thurston, left, presented Barbara Allen, Community Relations and Development Director for Western Maine Health Care, with early childhood injury prevention packets for new mothers. Kiwanis will be giving 100 kits to Stephens Memorial Hospital and are made available through the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute in Boston. At right, SAD 17 Employee of the Month Joe Cummings, center, was honored by the club in April. Joe, a library help desk specialist and Key Club advisor at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, is shown with SAD 17 Supt. Mark Eastman and Kiwanis President Helga. The Norway-Paris Kiwanis Club sponsors the monthly award along with the Student Counci.
