HAPPY/SAD $$:  Helga – Sad $ for the passing of Ray Brown and Florence Glynn, Penalty $’s for pictures in the past issues of the news, she now knows the rule;
Sarah - $$’s in honor of her parents, Happy for mom and dad who taught her she can do anything! 
Maryann, Sad $ for the passing of Florence, Happy $ for love from family and friends, happy $ for grandstand fund that has raised $3,753 so far and they have started the re-building process, happy $ for Gold Shovel she received from the ground breaking at the grandstand and happy $ for Bob from the Berlin Club who is a very dear friend!
Bob – Sad $$’s for losing good friends in Kiwanis, Sad $ for Red Sox and Sad $ for playing golf with Grandson at NCC in a tournament and although they didn’t win his grandson won the 50/50 raffle for $75.00!
Dick G. – Happy $ for everyone here and celebrating 40 years of marriage!
Janice – Sad $ for the passing of Karen Hill, Happy $’s for the celebration they are planning for next Tuesday at the Inn.  They are celebrating Janice’s 60th Birthday, her mom’s 84 Birthday, eleven years in business, recent health issues with Glen and that he is on the road to recovery and her oldest child’s new business!  Everyone is welcome to join them!
David Joy (Lt. Governor) – Happy $ to be here and really likes us!  Happy $ for Sarah taking his place in the very near future…
Diana – Happy $ celebrating 26 years of Marriage today!
Kathy – Happy $ for all the past presidents that were in attendance and happy for her recent trip to Newfoundland and Labrador.

Jane – Happy $ as a new member and shared a sentiment:  “Watch your thoughts, for they become words.  Watch your words, for they become actions.  Watch your actions, for they become habits.  Watch your habits, for they become character.  Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”

 Bob Lebron (Berlin Club) – Happy $’s for the Berlin Club, for Ray Brown who visited the Town & country every year for 35 years and brought tons of business with him.  He was a very dear friend.  Happy $ for being very excited about Kiwanis and sad there are no men at the head table….
Harold Wiley – Sad $ in memory of his son who died two years ago in his arms at the age of 57 on the golf course.
Announcements

  • Helga announced that the Berlin Club has stolen our gavel and we will need to visit them to get it back!
  • Sarah updated the group on Buddy’s health.  He has recently undergone surgery again and is recovering at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
  • Sarah introduced David Joy, our current Lt. Governor for our District.
  • Helga presented the club with a new Banner noting our 85 Years of service to the community.  It will be displayed at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School fence for a few weeks in August.
  • Sarah presented the club with a check for $6,250 for our portion of the proceeds from the Auction Weekend!  Thank you Sarah for all your assistance in planning the weekend….
  • There is a food drive (especially for canned fruits and vegetables) as part of a community service project at the district convention in Warwick next weekend. Please bring donations to next weeks meeting and Sarah will take them with her.

PROGRAM – 85th Anniversary Celebration
Helga did a very nice reading of all past presidents and those in attendance were asked to stand and be recognized as their name was read.  Past Presidents from as far back as 1957 were in attendance!  Honorary members, Al Bancroft and Mark Eastman were introduced and welcomed.  Former Secretaries were recognized and thanked for their years of service.  Special recognition was noted for long time Treasurer Joseph Cerny; in attendance representing Joe was his wife, Deb and Wendy Penley.  Helga recognized all the Charlie Goodspeed Award winners.  The Key Club members in attendance were noted:  Kate Michaud and Lindsey Kriger.  The club members in attendance from other clubs were introduced.  Berlin & Scarborough were both well represented.  Helga read a letter from Kiwanis International acknowledging our celebration of 85 years!
